SBI PO Syllabus

SBI PO 2016 Syllabus is described in this article for all those candidates who will be appearing in theSBI PO 2016 Exam to be held for the post of “Probationary Officers” in State Bank of India. It tells about the subjects, respective topics and sub-topics based on which, questions would be asked in the online exam – Preliminary and Main . Candidates must read the SBI PO Syllabus and prepare accordingly. Further, you can use the syllabus as a preparation tracker. It can be used to see how many topics are covered and how many are left.

Sections in SBI PO 2016 Syllabus

There shall be two parts of the common examination, online exam and written descriptive exam. Online exam shall be of 200 marks whereas written descriptive exam would be of 50 marks. Descriptive exam has to be attempted in pen and paper mode. Candidates will be tested for their linguist skills in English language in the latter.

Complete Details about SBI PO 2016

SBI PO 2016 – State Bank of India conducts the national level recruitment exam for the appointment of Probationary Officers in its branches across the country. The expected number of overall vacancies to be filled this year is around 2,000, which includes vacancies for unreserved, SC, ST , OBC, VH  and PwD candidates. Aspirants will have to appear in the online examination to be held in two phase’s viz. Preliminary examination followed by the Main examination. The official notice as well as the application form for SBI PO is expected to be released in the month of May 2016. The Preliminary Exam is likely to be held in July 2016.
As per the last year recruitment data, approx. 20 lakhs aspirants applied for the post of Probationary Officers through SBI PO recruitment examination. As per the current scenario, banking is one of the sought after desirable job among the youth in the country as it promises a lot of perks to its employees.

SBI PO Eligibility Criteria 2016

Following are the minimum eligibility conditions required to be fulfilled by the aspirant to be eligible to apply:
  • Graduate in any discipline from a recognized University or possessing any equivalent qualification recognized as such by the Central Government.
  • The minimum and maximum prescribed age limit is 21 years and 30 years calculated as on 01April 2016. The maximum age limit shall be relaxed for the reserved category candidates as per the reservation norms of the Government of India.

 SBI PO Application Form 2016

The application process is most likely to commence in the month of May 2016. Applications will be accepted via online mode only. The application form will be available on the official portal of SBI. Applicants must fill all the accurate details in the application form pertaining to their name, age, category, address, email ID, mobile number, educational qualification etc. Along-with that, it is also essential to pay the required fee on or before the last date of submission of the application. The fee can be paid in online or offline mode.

 SBI PO Admit Card 2016

The bank will issue SBI PO admit card to all the candidates through its website. The admit card mentions all the particulars related to the exam venue/ address, exam date, candidate’ name, roll number etc. Examinee will have to carry the printed copy of their admit card while appearing in the both the prelims and main exam. The admit card will not be issued separately to the candidates via email or post.

 

SBI PO Selection Procedure 2016

The selection procedure for SBI PO is comprised of the following stages- Preliminary examination, Main examination followed by the Group Discussion & Interview process. It is essential that the candidate must successfully cross all the selection stages by qualifying the minimum cutoff marks and other applicable criteria.

SBI PO Cutoff 2016

The Cutoff is the minimum benchmark score decided by the authorities to screen candidates for the subsequent selection rounds. There will be sectional cutoffs in both preliminary as well as the main examination. The cutoff will be published along with the announcement of result of the prelims/ main exam. Candidate who shall fail to qualify the cutoff for prelims will be disqualified from the competition and hence, he/she will not be able to appear in the Main examination.

The result for SBI PO Exam will be published on the bank’ website. The result will be published simultaneously for the selection stages – Prelims, Main exam and lastly for the Group Discussion & Interview process. SBI PO Selection Procedure 2016 – State Bank of India (SBI) conducts the recruitment for the post of Probationary officers in its offices. The recruitment drive is conducted for the candidates in three stages which are: Preliminary, Main and Personality Test. The Preliminary examination will be conducted in the month of June 2016 following which the successful candidates are called to participate in the Main Examination following up to the Personal Interview.   • SBI conducts the probationary officer recruitment in three stages. Following are the stages: Preliminary Examination, Main Examination, Personality Test

  • The total mark of the exam is 100.
  • For every correct response provided, the candidates would be awarded 1 mark and for every wrong response ¼ mark willet deducted. However no mark will be deducted for any response.
  • The test would be conducted online and every response should be marked using the mouse.
  • The total time allotted is 60 minutes.
  • The candidates should note that there are three sections in the Preliminary examination which has sectional cutoffs which the candidates need to clear. The three sections are as follows:

The candidates who score above the SBI PO Preliminary Cutoff Score 2016 will be allowed to take theSBI PO Main Exam 2016 which will follow a completely different exam pattern, the highlights of which has been given below:
  • The Main Examination is also an objective type examination. Some of the questions are also descriptive.
  • The total marks for the exam is 250 marks.
  • The objective questions are divided into four sections of 50 marks each whereas there is a descriptive section which carries 50 marks.
  • The total time allotted for this examination is 120 minutes.
  • For every correct response provided, the candidates would be awarded 1 mark and for every wrong response ¼ marks will get deducted. However no mark will be deducted for any response.

SBI PO Selection Procedure 2016 (Descriptive section pattern)

Along with the objective type question, the Main Exam will have questions in the descriptive format as well. Following are the important points to ponder for the written examination:
  • The Descriptive section will carry 50 marks and would also be an online test.
  • The question will be displayed on the monitor below whom a space would be provided where the candidates will have to type the answer using keyboard.
  • The duration for this test would be 60 minutes. So, the total timing for the MAIN Exam would be 3 hours.
  • This test would judge the writing skills of the candidates where the focus would be on letter writing, comprehension and essay.

SBI PO Selection Procedure 2016 (Group Discussion and personal Interview):

The candidates who clear the cutoff score for the Main Examination would then be called for a group discussion and personal Interview test where the candidates will have to face an Interview board.
The final merit list would be released on the basis of the candidate’s performance in the Main and Interview.
